I've been a die-hard crime fiction fan since reading my first Elmore Leonard novel in 2002. Occasionally I do a little writing, myself. On this date in 1979, acting Bonanno crime family boss Carmine “The Cigar” Galante was murdered at a restaurant in Brooklyn. Galante, whose tenure as boss caused friction with the other New York crime families, had engineered the assassination of several Gambino family members in order to take over their narcotics trafficking business.

Today is the anniversary of the debut of the FBI's 10 Most Wanted list. Murderer and interstate fugitive Thomas Jane Holden was the

Hi, Aldo. My holiday was OK, thanks. Busy, though. I've been working midnights, so not much time to get much done on the personal side. I'm off until New Year's night, so I'm hoping to kick back some. I think I hear some beers in the fridge calling my name.
