Police procedure: is more better? Or is a little bit plenty?

Added a post Mar. 28, 2007

Less is more for me. I don't watch CSI - tried but...yuck! And, while I find archeology fascinating, I don't read the mysteries that are all about dead bodies and more dead bodies being scrutinized... Read More »

Police procedure: is more better? Or is a little bit plenty?

Added a reply Mar. 28, 2007

Cool! I have the entire collection of Writers Digest aides to writers of mysteries (Deadly Doses, Police Procedural, etc., plus a few others I've found. I was the kind who never asked questions i... Read More »

Your opinion of first novels?

Added a post Mar. 27, 2007

A Great New Review!

I just found out about a new review of Glitter of Diamonds on The Suspense Zone. I love the last paragraph, because it sums up what my goal in writing the Manziuk and Ryan books is - to mimic, in a good way, and in today's world, the style of my favorite author, Georgette Heyer. "Glitter of Diamonds, second in the Manziuk and Ryan mystery series by award-winning Canadian journalist, author and speaker, N. J. Lindquist, continues with a finely drawn police procedural written in the…

Why are we so fascinated by murder?

Next Tuesday, I’m thrilled to be reading in the library of Casa Loma in Toronto with Peter Robinson as part of Casa Loma and Crime Writers of Canada’s reading program. I'll be taking my copies of Peter's books along for him to sign. :)

Besides giving a short reading from Glitter of Diamonds,…

Bodies in the Library

Last night, I joined roughly 65 other people in the library of Toronto's castle, Casa Loma, for an evening of readings and questions with two very successful Canadian mystery authors, Giles Blunt and Louise Penny. It was a very interesting and informative evening.

A Late Christmas Gift From My Husband

As a wife, the homeschooling mother of three young sons, and an active member of a small church, holiday days were one of my breaks from a very busy life. And an opportunity for me to read undisturbed!

This particular Boxing Day, I was sitting in the family room of our Mississauga home, reading a mystery novel I’d picked up at the library. My husband was also in the room, reading the newspaper. Our three sons, ages three to seven, were in their bas…

October is My Month for Interviews

This seems to be my month for having interviews on the internet. May have something to do with my having the trade paperback edition of Glitter of Diamonds out this month.
