More gender-bending...

The women of Jungle Red got such a great response to our "male/female, who wrote it" quiz, that we're doing it again. Think you can tell if something was written by a man or a woman? Check it out at www.jungleredwriters.com

PS I bet no one gets my entry...

Lovely to see you again, my friend..

Jeez, I guess I don't blog here often. More likely to do that at www.360.yahoo.com/harrisgarden or www.jungleredwriters.com. No, crimespace is more like eavesdropping on other people's conversations - I do that all the time, and have gotten some of my favorite dialogue that way - or jumping in when you realize that someone in Australia, or LA, or Montana is thinking about the same thing that you… Continue

Back to life, back to reality

..or back to fiction, I guess. I've picked up my story after not writing for about 2 weeks (although i did work on the outline on the ferry from Dar es Salaam to Zanzibar. Wish I'd gotten a picture of that..hundreds of travellers exhausted by the heat and the rocking of the boat, wrapped in kangas, and I'm there sharpening my little pencils..) A bit of research has shown me that I'm going down the wrong (inaccurate) track on a major story line, and I'm trying not to be despondent about it.… Continue

Africa, No hurry

Hope i haven't appeared to be rude...re friend requests...I'm travelling in Tanzania and haven't had running water, much less internet access. In Dodoma for the day at a swanky ($60 a day) hotel so i'm treating myself to a little computer time. My husband and i are helping to fund a library in a small village in central Tanzania. The work is going very well, and i'm planning to post a lot of pix on my website if anyone's interested. (…

Early Endorsements for “A Circle of Souls”

Linda Fairstein, NYT Bestselling Author: "A fascinating debut - this novel takes the reader to the darkest places in the human soul, from a writer with the authenticity to lead us there. A stunning thriller and an important read."

Judge Judy Sheindlin, star of the Judge Judy Show: "The seminal work of this fine author kept me glued to my chair until the adventure was over and the mystery solved. A great read!"

Book Synopsis:

The sleepy town of Newbury, Connecticut, is shocked when a little girl is found brutally murdered. The town s top detective, perplexed by a complete lack of leads, calls in FBI agent Leia Bines, an expert in cases involving children.

Meanwhile, Dr. Peter Gram, a psychiatrist at Newbury s hospital, searches desperately for the cause of seven-year-old Naya Hastings devastating nightmares. Afraid that she might hurt herself in the midst of a torturous episode, Naya s parents have turned to the bright young doctor as their only hope.

The situations confronting Leia and Peter converge when Naya begins drawing chilling images of murder after being bombarded by the disturbing images in her dreams. Amazingly, her sketches are the only clues to the crime that has panicked Newbury residents. Against her better judgment, Leia explores the clues in Naya s crude drawings, only to set off an alarming chain of events.
In this stunning psychological thriller, innocence gives way to evil, and trust lies forgotten in a web of deceit, fear, and murder.

The reason many people travel in RVs is to travel with their pets. A limited number of hotels allow a small dog but not enough. So tell your husband you are NOT nuts!

Rosemary, do you still have a Jeep? I suggest checking into Scamps or Casitas. These are lightweight bare-bones travel trailers that can be towed with anything, even something small. We tow ours with a Jeep Wrangler (it's really for my m-i-l, but we use it if the motor home is in the shop or if we're going somewhere where the motor home is too large to park).

Greetings I don't think cozys are dead, we are just adding more kinds of mysteries. Mine is a paranormal crime novel - crossing genres - My book, The Beatitudes, is a paranormal thriller set in New Orleans. It will be out in the fall and I am donating all royalties directly to the New Orleans Public Library Foundation. Libraries support the infrastructure of a great city, so I have started The Beatitudes Network to promote awareness of the importance of public libraries in NOLA.
The blogsite www.beatitudesinneworleans.blogspot.com describes the Network, has excerpts from The Beatitudes, recipes, and more. Merci mille fois. Lyn Lejeune.
Writers, please pass the word…..it’s for a good cause….don’t let the libraries of New Orleans or the US go the way of The Great Library of Alexandria. P.S. just posted an excerpt on my Crimespace page.

I don't think you are morbid for wanting your sisters name with yours. I don't want anyone to forget that my sister was alive and she was a wonderful twin. I think giving tributes where they are due is the upmost respect you can give anyone... Look at the monuments given to famous people in the past... just because my twin wasn't famous, just a great sister, she deserves recognition. And so does your sister.
