Bad Drivers

Here in Northern Virginia I sometimes feel as if I take my life in my hands when I get on the road, especially when I get on The Beltway, the automotive circle of death that surrounds Washington DC.  I've tried to be charitable to others but I have had to accept the truth:  some people just don't… Continue

First Author Update of the Year

My last two book signings of 2010 capped the year nicely.  At Borders in Dulles Town Center I set a new personal record for sales at a Mall store.  The next day I had my first book signing at the giant Borders in White Flint Mall.  It was another super showing, and I suspect lots of people got my novels as…

Get a signed mystery novel this weekend!

Hanging in the Mall this weekend?  Me too!

My final book signing of the year in Virginia is at Borders in Dulles Town Center this Saturday.  I love this little store because it came back from the dead!  I did a signing just before it was shut down by the Borders chain last year.  Then the community made them bring it back.  Meet me there between 1pm and 5pm, at 21100 Dulles Town Circle, Dulles, VA

My last book signing of the year in Maryland is at Borders in the White Flint…

Something New

I've met with unexpected success with ebooks. The new technology seems to have brought me a new wave of fans. It reminds me that we should never be afraid to try something new. Remember that a lone amateur built the Ark. A large group of professionals built the Titanic.

Hobby?

My full time job aside, this is the time of year when I try to make the best of my hobby (writing) by making several book store appearances, keeping my blog posts up, pushing a newsletter out, posting to social media sites and maybe adding a few words to the novel I'm working on. As someone close recently observed, there is a very fine line between "hobby" and “mental illness."

Meet Me in MD Tomorrow

Saturday I return to Maryland to sign some books at Borders in the in the Gateway Center. The store is right on Route 301 in Prince Georges's County, across from the Bowie Baysox stadium, 1/4 mile south of the Route 50 interchange. If you're looking for holiday gifts they have a great bargain books section, but of course nothing beats a novel signed by the author, right? Stop in and say hello between 1pm and 4pm, at 4420 Mitchellville Rd, Bowie MD.
