Festival of Mystery

I played hooky from the Citizens' Police Academy this week to attend the Festival of Mystery in Oakmont ,PA (near Pittsburgh). As always, it was a blast. Hey, a room full of authors, books, and readers...what's not to love? I also blog about the event over on Working Stiffs today, so come on by and check it out.

My character is alive!

Imagine my surprise the other day when I had an email from Pepper Ellis, a ficitional character in Genesis Beach. Well, it turns out that there really is a Pepper Ellis. Not sure if she's a chef, or brunette, etc., but I thought it was really cool. I let her know that Pepper is also in Just North of Luck, attending a Testicle Festival.

My first author interview and next writing projects

It is still in progress, but the first two installments of my discussion and interview with Qiu Xiaolong appear on Nearly Nothing but Novels. What a kind man and a terrific novelist. I took a break to read his two latest novels and write a bunch of environmental posts elsewhere, but I'll wrap it up soon.
