Progress

Hard to believe it has been nearly two months since my brush with crime but I think I have finally turned the corner. I'm sleeping better and not jumping over every strange noise. I do believe it is time to break the addiction to http://icanhascheezburger.com/ and get to reading again!

What does a reader do when she doesn't want to read?

I read. A lot. I have all my life. I always have a book or three going - generally mysteries. And since joining Crimespace I've got a huge stack of new books and authors to dive into. But ever since my brush with real life crime a few weeks, reading about crime doesn't seem so entertaining.

I don't know, maybe what I need is a funny crime story - but does such a thing even exist?

Crime

I was sound asleep up til about 12:45 a.m. when knocking on my bedroom door woke me. I opened it expecting it to be my daughter with a bad dream. Instead found two police men guns drawn and flashlights shining in my face who told me the back door was wide open and the house alarm was blaring. (The panel for that is in the kitchen and really can't be heard upstairs in the bedroom. A call will be placed shortly to remedy that. )

on growing old

You know it is a sad thing when you reach the stage where you have to parent your own parent. If you are lucky this is a person whom you have looked up to your whole life. Really for me my mom was my first real life hero. She was strong and independent in a time when moms, and women in general, were not.
