I really enjoyed the book, and have shared it with a young friend of mine, who is also loving it - that's her word. I like the way the writer has introduced so many elements, personal and political, in a non-didactic manner. Bravo. I am also very interested in learning more about the 1001 crane displays. Do they really exist? Is anyone still making them? Is there any way to see a photo of one?

Thanks, Carole. This one's not a mystery and aimed for middle-grade children, so it's a little different for me. But I agree--I love the cover!
