The new Library Journal, 4/15/07, has a terrific
article called The Killer Genre by Wilda W.
Williams. It's about new talent and publishing
initiatives for mystery readers. Some of our
members here are mentioned, and Robert Fate (Baby
Shark), even has a Q & A done with Stacy Alesi
(Bookbitch). Tim Maleeny and Julia Buckley are
mentioned as up-and-comers.

Part of the article includes information on some
of the new and growing publishing houses, and the
growth of mysteries at some of the larger ones.
Capital Crime Press, Midnight Ink, Bleak House and
St. Martin's Minotaur are all mentioned.

It also talks about the power of the blog and
review websites such as www.bookbitch.com. (Just
to clarify, I review for Stacy, and Wilda Williams
is my editor at LJ for book reviews.)
Some of the interesting campaigns such as Killer
Year - Class of 2007, and Mira's new Deadly Seven
are mentioned. There's also a list of the Eight
Top Mystery Blogs, including Sarah Weinman's.

If I missed anyone from here, I'm sorry. But, I'd
definitely recommend that you pick up a copy of
the journal if you get a chance, or beg your local
librarian to let you see it.
