Sometimes I feel like Homer Simpson. I forgot what I'm doing or what I'm thinking as fast as I'm doing it. I'll walk into the kitchen and wonder what the hell I'm doing there. Then I have to smack myself in the head and go "D'oh!"
I had a "D'oh!" moment this morning. I hadn't realized my friend Deb Baker had a book out this month. It's the second in her Yooper series (Yooper=Upper Michigan Peninsula). The first book, Murder Passes The Buck, was a hoot. Her protagonist, Gertie Johnson, with her dyed, fiery red hair, terrible driving, and wacky life, is wonderful.
Deb's new book, Murder Grins And Bears It, is now available. I'm heading out to my local Barnes & Noble to pick up a copy today.
Deb also has another series with Berkley Prime Crime (yeah, the same publisher I'm with for my "Booktown Mystery" series. Cool, huh? I just learned this week that that's what they're it). The first book in that series is Dolled Up For Murder; its sequel, Good-Bye Dolly, comes out this September. Go have a look at those covers. Does Berkley do wonderful covers, or what? I can't wait to see what they do for me.
Check out Deb's books. You won't be disappointed.
