Apology neccessary, Robert Venditti, I am sorry!

Robert Venditti was nice enough to come onto the G-ZONE, my blogtalk radio show, on Weds. June 1st. Here is the link:

Now that that is out of the way, why is it I feel the need to apologize? If you listen in on the broadcast you will find out why, but to give you the long and short of it I partially based my review of his work on the Percy Jackson graphic novel on my movie going experience. I was comparing his vision of the story to that of the movie. I have not yet read the novel. I was perplexed why his characters and some of the events were so different from the movie’s.

Being the gentlemen he is, he set me straight on the manner in a very nice way. He explained to me that his adaptation was directly from the novel; the movie is the departure. He had not seen the movie until after he had done his work and it was okayed by the author of Percy Jackson, Rick Riordan.

One of the benefits of listening to the authors describes their process and motivation is hearing the passion for their craft in their voice; I love it. That reason is partially why I had decided to do the blogtalk show in the beginning. As a reader I want to hear the authors describe what was going on when they wrote a certain piece or discovered a character.  June 1st I was set straight on something that I had written that was incorrect; for that, the learning experience, the authors charm and civility, I am more than happy to be writing this post and correcting a wrong I have made. My hat is off to Robert Venditti; thanks for taking the time to enlighten me and set the record straight.

Maybe you can tell I'm more comfortable writing. I hate hearing my own voice in a recording. Struggled with that through the garage band years, not that we were huge or anything.

P.S. G-Man, I listened to that whole interview with Robert. I think it all worked out just fine.

Yes it is, just go into the archives to the Friday before Memorial day and it should be there. Very enlightening interview.
