The Festival offers a range of events for readers, authors, artists, musicians, and children including Alma y Corazaon Tejano Ballet Folkorico, the Black Vegetarian Society, a Discovery Wall "trip" to the Cleveland Institute of Music complete with performances by its students, and a young poets' workshop.
AuthorSpeak will include a panel of local authors Karen Blumenthal, Harry Hunsicker, and L. A. Starks, moderated by Robert Wilonsky of the Dallas Morning News.
Many other authors will be featured, including award-winning Gary Vineyard, already a master of the western-mystery genre in his debut novel, The Grave on Peckerwood Hill.
The seventh floor of the J. Erik Jonsson library showcases Shakespeare's First Folio, compiled in 1623, and a (once-lost) broadside copy of the Declaration of Independence, printed July 4, 1776.
