God, I can't believe it's been so long since I posted here! Should get back to it. The last time I posted I announced the debut of my medieval noir VEIL OF LIES, and almost a year later I get to report that it was nominated for two awards! One is the Macavity for Best Historical Mystery, presented by Mystery Reader's Journal and the other is the Shamus Award for Best First PI Novel, given by the Private Eye Writers of America. Both very cool and both represent the marriage of medieval and PI that I was going for. Both are presented in and around Bouchercon in October, and of course I'm going.

In fact, I have a panel on Friday, October 16, 9:00 – 9:55 am MORE NOIR THAN YOU ARE: Is noir a path toward realism or away from it? What is noir anyway? Frankie Bailey (Moderator), Christa Faust, Victor Gischler, Charlie Newton, Jeri Westerson.

Also at Bouchercon on Saturday, October 17 at 2pm in front of the Book Dealer's Room on the third floor, Three Deadly Dames (Louise Penny, Elizabeth Zelvin, and me) will be holding a cocktail/salon/conversation that we invite any and all to come to. We're all celebrating our newest releases (I've got the next Crispin Guest Medieval Noir, SERPENT IN THE THORNS, coming out September 29th, just in time for Bouchercon).

And before and after Bouchercon, I will be signing at various bookstores in Indianapolis. Check the website for details.

But before all that, I'm also blog touring:
