Lyn,

Congratulations on your book and also on your campaign, a very worthy one.

I will gather books from authors and send them down to New Orleans. Do you have a specific place you'd like them delivered. There are a few of us who do this for libraries that have burned down, flooded, or that don't have the funds to purchase books. We've sent quite a few down to the hurricane torn south in the last year. Keep up the great things you are doing. And thanks for doing them.

Kudos on what you're doing,Lyn! WTG!!! Your book sounds fantastic. I look forward to seeing you out on the tour trail one of these days so I can buy an autographed copy of your book. You better not charge me extra for the autograph, though! Cheers from a writing mate in Australia.

Hi LeJeune,

Thanks for the kind invite to be friends. There are so many quality people on here. I'm just flattered to be a part of this crowd.

I am reading that website. Who's the publisher? I'll order it here.

WOULD LOVE to be your friend! My favorite city in the world is New Orleans. I almost relocated there a few centuries ago from my hometown of NY! But fate and Satan brought me to England to marry an abusive alcoholic. But I ditched him and am married to an Angel now, God came through. New Orleans is the coolest place in the world. I didn't quite understand your photo thingy, but once I read New Orleans I did!
Thank you so much and i'll probably ask you for recipes.
By the way--THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION IS, how are all you people coping? My God you were through hell and back.
all the best and many thanks for the invite!!!

Thanks for the invite. My short story turned out to be more like a travelogue so far but I'm using it to catch the slack when I get stuck writing the novel. I had this vision of a humorous crime novel but it seems to turn dark at every turn. I'm kind of disgusted with my characters.
What a nice thing to do to donate your royalties to the New Orleans Public Library. Wow!
I was in New Orleans with my girlfriend last November. Standard tourist stuff, stayed in the CBD.
I like some of the same authors and things that you like. Wrote a paper titled, "The Single Narrator Theory of Faulkner's "As I Lay Dying"" many years ago in college. I wasn't the first to come up with that idea, BTW, but I remember being really excited, thinking I was really on to something.
Take care, I'm back to work writing. Ed

Hi Lyn! Thanks for the invite. Helping restore the libraries in New Orleans is a great cause, and it sounds like you've got a great book with which to do it.

Thanks for the recommendation! I'll definitely check out eons. I love giving talks to that age group--the audience usually wants to learn, absorb, and discuss.

Thanks again, Lyn, and I can't wait to read your book.

If you write anything like James Lee Burke, you're on my list to check out. When I finally got my novel published, I kept hoping someone would say she writes almost as good as Burke on the worst day of his life...

Thanks so much for the invitation, Lyn. You're doing something truly noble. I hope the book sells like Aunt Sally's Pralines! I'll be buying a copy.

I was in New Orleans about two weeks before Katrina hit. I hope to get back next year. There's absolutely no place like it anywhere, and I miss it with an ache that feels like home. Your work proves that Louisiana has a lot of Saints--and not just on the football field.

Take care,

Kelli

Lyn, I very much look forward to seeing your book. I'm currently outlining a PI book, set in Seattle, that has a New Orleans component. It's possible I'll get down there in the fall/winter to do some research...and will look you up!

Lyn, I can't say "un-yon" without thinking of Justin Wilson. I didn't do any cooking when I worked undercover. Ate in restaurants and slept in a Murphy bed in Chicago. I prefer home sweet home now. But I have some fun stories from my days as a PI. Good luck with your books.
