Howdy Earl,
Like the name for two reasons, First it was my grandfathers whom was my hero, second I think Earl Staggs would make a great character name.

No, Jen, that was not a typo. Great Mystery and Suspense, a new print mag, pays 50 Bucks for a new story, 25 for a reprint.
If you love Lira, have a yen for Yen, or drool over Dollars, check it out:

Laine and Katt, thanks for your entries in the Great Hat Debate. A few more votes and I'll have a great lead on Ant Jan, and she'll have to concede. She may also smack me around a little.
Hey, Jen, if you want some editors to add to your hit list, I can give you a few names. HehHehHeh.
Like you, I'm writing mostly shorts these days and was lucky enough to place some in anthologies. Also working on a sequel to my novel. If you're looking for short mystery markets, check out a couple of ezines: Crime and Suspense and Mouth Full of Bullets. Mysterical-e is still a favorite ezine of mine, too. Also, Great Mystery and Suspense is a new print mag that PAYS for stories.
Jenifer, you foxy devil, you! Wonderful to see you again. I see you still haven't learned how to spell your name. There are supposed to be two "n's in Jennifer. After all this time, I suppose we'll just have to let you spell it your own way.
I also see you've hyphentated your last name and, judging from your pic, you're living in a tree. Well, if that's what you want, who am I to make judgment. (You do remember I'm a kidder, right?)
Hi backatcha, CT. Greetings from Texas. I hope all is well in the Great Down Under. My wish list has always included a trip to Australia. Maybe some day.
I see no one wants to get in the middle of the Great Hat Debate. Y'all just don't want to get on Ant Jan's bad side. Can't say I blame you. HehHehHeh. I'm sure most of you know Jan and I are close pals. Next time she comes through town, I'm gonna see if she wants to swap hats. Hers doesn't have any bullet holes.
'Thought I'd come to your neck of the woods and visit since we're just a hop, skip and jump away. (well, horse ride) I think the hat is appropriate for a cowtown boy. What's the background in the pic?

Seriously - short stories. You? What's the latest?

What are you writing these days?
Now I have a question for you and everyone else. This is a matter that MUST be settled, so be honest. Here's the question:
Don't you think my hat is better looking than Ant Jan's?
Hugs,
Laine
