The latest, Salvation: The True Story of Rod Braybon's, Fight for Justice is just out.)
For Brothers in Law: Robert Gott (Creator of the Naked Man cartoon and author of the William Power crime series) & Stuart MacBride (Scottish writer, most famous for his thrillers set in Aberdeen & featuring Detective Logan McRae)

Justice Elizabeth 'Betty' King, Lindy Cameron, Jill Wood and Kerry Greenwood will look at the fascinating relationship between the crime that is splashed across the pages of our daily newspapers and that in the crime fiction books we read. THE REFECTORY

10am Sunday, July 19: Location, Location, Location - Anatomy of a
Crime SceneA strong sense of place is crucial in good crime fiction. Looking at painting memorable geographic portraits will be Garry Disher, Nick Gadd and Fiona McIntosh with, to chair the session, Angela Savage.

2pm Murder She Wrote … Before Anyone Else!
Australia's first female crime writer was Mary Fortune. Writing as 'W.W' or 'Waif Wanderer', her fascinating and at times seamy life featured bigamy, common-law husbands, drunkenness and homelessness. Lifting the lid on this larger than life character will be Fortune expert and distinguished scholar and writer, Lucy Sussex. Session hosted by Peter Bragge. Session will conclude with the launch of Three Murder Mysteries by Mary Fortune, edited by Lucy Sussex (Mulini Press).

Of late some extremely exciting new voices have joined the world of Australia crime fiction. Nick Gadd and Robert Sims are two such writers. Today they will talk about the journey that brought them to their remarkable literary debuts with Angela Savage.

Just a reminder that tomorrow at the Crime and Justice Festival will be the Great Crime Fighting Debate - the Dames versus the Dicks. Come and have a laugh as the topic of which gender is the best at fighting crime is debated. 4pm in the Refectory (with the candlestick)
