Who here has made a trailer for their book? I started playing around with one this morning, and I'm surprised that it's actually fun.

I have 2 questions:

1. How do you legally add music? Is there a web source for music that's okay to use, or is there a good way to get permission to use someone's music?

2. How helpful have you found it to have a trailer? Has it impacted your marketing in a strong positive way, or have you found it a waste of time and creative energy?

You're welcome. Yes, neosounds is good. What I like about it ... you can download a free low-fidelity version to see if it works for you, and buy the hi-fi version if it does.

I'll have to give it a try. I love browsing through music sites, since I used to be a musician (classic guitar and then, later, Celtic and British traditional folk music on the fiddle and the flute). You've given me one more to add to the list!
Here's the trailer for Pocket-47. I wrote the script and an old pal produced it for me.

I really liked your use of the angel in the beginning. That blood effect was cool. Kudos to your producer friend.

Leaving my publisher prompted me to redo my trailer. It's on the home page of my website here: http://www.crimefictionbook.com.

Thanks for the information about Incompetch. I love combining music and video and this is a great resource. I thought I'd also mention that YouTube has some new editing features. Here's a link to the Help page with more information: http://www.google.com/support/youtube/bin/answer.py?answer=183851

You can't beat that for free and easy!
