Hi, Rhys,
The royal tea sounds marvellous. I wish I could be there. Instead, I'll be hanging out in a large field at a county fair grounds at Country Fest, an all-day country music extravaganza in upstate New York. Not as classy, and no doubt it'll be a lot less comfortable, but I made it through the Woodstock Festival in 1969, so I'm a survivor.
My husband would be miserable at an all-day outdoor music festival, so I plan to go alone. I like blending in anonymously and observing the crowd...I play piano, but jazz and rock, not country. And I've never played professionally, unless you count my years as a creative arts therapist at a psychiatric center, when I played lots of piano for and with the patients. I found it reached them more powerfully than the other arts... I like country music not just for the sound but for the lyrics, which are often mini-short stories, although they frequently lean further to the right than I'd prefer.
