No, it's Jane Greer. They made a few films together. I think that one was called Out of the Past. There was one where she was a villian and it's great! Can't recall the title of that now though
  • carole gill

I think that when you put them on your page, they automatically go on the main page but I wouldn't swear to it. Not too clever about the workings on this site! and I've been here a year. I mean I still don't know how to put music up from the computer--I only add things from other people! so best ask someone with a few more grey cells!
  • carole gill

Yes, they were gorgeous. The one with the dark around her eyes was sold back to the Mother's breeder. And she's just qualified for Crufts! Pls. put yours up!
Now then I've always been so interested in film. Particulary the Noir stuff--the 1940s to 1950s. I really consider those films to be so artistic. Postman Always Rings Twice, Double Indemnity. I mean they achieved with their actor's facial expressions and tones of voice what no amount of humping and bumping could ever duplicate (in my opinion). Sexual attraction and manipulation smouldered--and we all got the idea! (more than)!
I wish I could live there and research material and set my novels there. (hopefully published novels)! I'd go mad, if I could.

Thanks Jean, I'm not sure how to connect to the site you mention. Please let me know and I'll try to check in once and a while. Carl

    Hi,
    It's: pplepic@gmail.com
  • Ovidia

Hi again, I didn't manage to find your books in Borders today, supposedly our 'biggest' bookstore but that doesn't really mean anything because they're full of cook books & movie tie-ins right now. I'll go on looking in other bookstores & I left a 'query' for books by you at the counter (just in case they have a buyer who's paying attention!)
  • Jeannie Faulkner Barber

OMG sistah! Well good for you! So you had your own car, too? There's stories to be told there and they're popping in my head. Dang this having to work stuff...I want to write full time. LOL.
Thanks for sharing that and for being a friend!
    Blessings,
    Jeannie

Well, maybe we're joined through the cosmos some way or other! And thank you for the congrats for NaNoWriMo . I won't get to do it this year bc the book I'm co-authoring has GOT to get thru the editing phases. We expect some rejections, but we have to birth that baby first. LOL!
  • C. M. Albrecht

I swiped it off a group photo of the old Barnaby Jones cast that I found on the Internet. :)
  • C. M. Albrecht

Yeah, and I don't even have to ask for a senior discount!
  • Jean Henry Mead

You're a delight! I hope you keep messaging on my forum. :-)

I really like your blog. Would it be shameless of me to ask if I might guest with you one day? I'd be happy to reciprocate.
  • Jean Henry Mead

I'd be happy to have you guest with me one day. I just joined the blog so none of my articles have appeared as yet, but Fridays are my days. Send along whatever you have in mind to Seniorsleuth@aol.com.

  • Doug M. Cummings

Just got back from a week out of town. Can I let you/him know tonight? I'd love to do it but not sure if I'm going to have time to write something by then.
  • Doug M. Cummings

    Hi there,
Much as I'm flattered to be asked to contribute a weekly blog, I think I'd better say no. I need to get my focus back on the next book and just keeping up with my own blog is an issue I'm trying to handle.
    Thanks for thinking of me.
I'm still looking forward to penning a piece for your part of the blog later next week. Does that still work for you?
  • Doug M. Cummings

Sounds good. It's ready whenever you are.
  • L.J. Sellers

Thanks for the great birthday wishes!
  • Doug M. Cummings

    Will do.

    Dearest Jean,
I hope you had a great Fourth of July!
    Talk to you soon,
    Cynde

  • Cynde L. Hammond

    Hi, Jean!
Congratulations on your book! That is such exciting news!
What am I up to? Well...my computer "ate" all my files in a fit of anger! I was in the process of using a new program that backs up files...then my computer froze, and when it finally unfroze, it had erased ALL of my documents files! So, all of my pictures, tags, animations and graphics are gone. In addition to that, so are all of my short stories, my research, my outlines and story ideas. All of my important files that I have saved throughout the one and a half years that I've had my computer are gone.
Are you holding your breath like I did? Yes, my book is gone, too...all 33,883 words! I'm just sick about it!
I should have backed the stuff up long before this. I've heard the horror stories about this happening to other people, just like everybody else, but I just had to be a perfectionist and try to find the perfect software for backing up my book and all my other important documents. Now looked what happened to me! I'm not positive that the program was the culprit, but my computer is definitely defective. The manufacturer is going to repair it FREE OF CHARGE, even though it's well past warranty! What does that tell you?
A friend of mine had her husband call me and we found a few of the files had not been erased--at least that's a small blessing. I was very happy about that.
I certainly have a different outlook on things, that's for sure. Besides, that...on the grand scale of life, it's just a little blip. There are so many more important things.
For instance, Dion's Uncle Herbie just found out two weeks ago that he had cancer. He was a strong, vibrant, seventy-six-year-old, 6'4" tall man, who took care of people, not the other way around...and now? He died this morning. Such a shock and what a loss. Praise God we'll see him again in heaven some day. It's the only thing that makes the loss bearable.
Sorry to bend your ear. I have a habit of doing that to you, don't I?
    God bless you, Jean.
    Cynde

  • L.J. Sellers

    Thanks for your good wishes.

  • Cynde L. Hammond

    Dear Jean,
Thank you for your prayers! I appreciate them more than you can imagine. And "no," I didn't have a print out or back up of my book. I was in the process of doing a backup of my book when all this happened! That's what makes this so maddening. I think that possibly the backup software was defective. Who knows? They said they'll try to determine the cause when they repair my laptop.

I get the decals that you asked about from all over the place--they are the ones that I lost over a thousand of, by the way. Friends make them for me, many different websites offer them for free or I snag them from other people's pages (with permission, of course.) Someday I intend to learn how to create them myself using Paint Shop Pro or some other software programs to edit and work with images. It should be so much fun!

    All my best to you,
    Cynde

  • Deirdre

    Thats interesting...

My very sweet friend, I'm so saddened by the death of your daughter. We live and work with words, but words are like tiny snowflakes at a time such as this....beautiful, but gone and hard to hold on to. I do know believe to share your words makes healing begin no matter what the circumstances. Please know you are in my prayers. Matthew 5:4
    Blessings,
    Jeannie

Jean, I haven't been on Crime Space much; too busy, and I can't seem to find the comment you left for me. Nevertheless, I got the email notice of a coment and saw the subject matter. Please let me express my sympathy. I have no idea of the pain you must be going through, but I encourage you to spend time with those you love and trust, and give yourself liberal time to move through the grief. Take best of care, Morgan
  • Hazel Edwards

My condolences about the loss of your daughter. Even author-parents can't find the best words for you at this time, but I totally feel for you.

Thank you for the friend invite, Jean. I look forward to communicating with you. As I read the comments here, I understand you have recently lost a daughter. Please accept my condolences. I'm sure it's been a very difficult time for you.

Nice website ... Liked your quotes from others, especially that of Parris Afton Bonds with which I totally agree:

"Talent is cheap. The difference between a professional and
    an amateur writer is persistence."

Persistence may be worth more than talent--except when there is NO talent.

I see you have the Wyoming theme. Nice. Nice that you quote Louis Lamour too ... I read his autobiography, it sounds like it was written by my father.
  • JackBludis

Have no idea what happened to my comment ... but I like your selection of authors. Like your theme of "Wyoming." Also your webpage and your quotes from other articles. Particularly from Parris Afton Bonds:

"Talent is cheap. The difference between a professional and an amateur writer is persistence." ~

Louis Lamour is another good one. I read his autobiography, it's basically my father's story.
  • Jeannie Faulkner Barber

You know what? Go to Craig's List. You can put an ad on there for FREE. People email you back. My hubby does that all the time with car parts, cars, etc. If you download some pix it's even better. I bet you won't have it long! Gosh I wish I could buy it. We have a 30th Anniversary Edition Z28 Official Pace car for the Brickyard 400. If you want to see pix of it, go to my MySpace. myspace/dragracers2
I'll also pass the word around for you. Try to send me pictures if you can.
    Hugs,
    Jeannie
  • Jeannie Faulkner Barber

I think I left out the dot com before. I'm blonde ya know AND old...two strikes!

Thanks so much for the congratulations. I have Dick Powell as Philip Marlowe and William Powell as Philo Vance. As you probably know, most of these detectives have been portrayed by more than one actor (some of them abominable choices), but the ones I put on here are my personal favorites.
  • Jeannie Faulkner Barber

Oh you and me, too! Just send them to that email address I gave you and I can fwd them to my friends, etc. Who knows? Can you add them to this site? At any rate, I'll be glad to help you any way I can. *smile*

    Thank you for your welcome!

    Hi!
I gave my husband the Sony e-reader but that's not backlit. I use an Ipaq (which is backlit) and love it--I even read the news on it downloaded from Avantgo.
