I am a psychotherapist and mystery writer. I live in a small town in northern Wisconsin with my husband, two children and assorted animals. I love the idea of this community!
I operated a private Christian counseling practice out of a church in a small town near where I live. Loved doing that, but came to a point where I needed a bit of a break and decided to pursue my writing.
I also help my husband run his construction company so between that and the children I manage to keep pretty busy.
I have a completed mystery called "The Twelfth Step" that has been taken on by an agent- Janet Benrey of Benrey Literary Agency- and am about half way through the first draft of the sequel. I hope to begin re-writes on Twisted Truths by mid-summer. I was very excited when The Twelfth Step progressed to Finalist stage in the Malice Domestic/St. Martin's contest for this year. I hope to keep the momentum going with that ms. Wish me luck!

Hi Donna,
NIce to meet you. My co-writer, Joe Moore, and I write "spiritual" thrillers mixing cutting edge science with religion. I see you had a Christian counseling practice. Sounds interesting.
Thanks for friending me.
Nury, I think it is only the public's perception of crime writers as walking on the dark side.
I've met Lisa Gardner and Tess Gerritsen and you wouldn't look twice at them in the grocery store. No evil vibes coming off either of them.

You asked me how I spend my time since giving up being a psychotherapist. I answered on my own page, but wasn't sure you saw it. So here is what I said:
I read, I babysit with my grandson, I work part time doing data entry, I do the newsletter for my temple, I travel, and I read some more. Oh, and I'm also planning my daughter's wedding which will be in August. No, I won't be at Malice. I mainly go to Left Coast Crime, since I live on the west coast (or left coast). I've been to 3 Bouchercons and 2 Mayhem in the Midlands.
Greetings from a Brit living in France who knows (a bit) and loves (a lot) the US. Currently struggling with a French translation of a mystery story I completed last year, tying in a mysterious death on today's Breton coast with Resistance skulduggery in 1944.
