I, too, enjoyed the film and probably would rate it four out of five stars. Meryl Streep was certainly the essence of the real Julia Child, and for me the Paris scenes (particularly when switching back and forth between New York and Paris brought ...

Hi Gary, thank you for friend invite. I notice you are a true crime author. Then you might be interested in my true crime. My Great Aunt was murdered fifty years ago in Britain. It was investigated by Scotland Yard and although they charged someone he got off at trial. It is still an unsolved case and I have been trying to get it re-investigated but the shutters have come down! It is interesting and there is more on my web site. One day I hope to write a book about it when I am not writing crime fiction. Best wishes, Pauline

Hi Gary, It was great. I just got Love, Lies and Murder and am looking forward to digging into that one. You really do a superb job--very thorough and you provide all sides to the story. Like I said, it's like being on a ride-along, so to speak, throughout the whole thing, without bias of any kind. That's what keeps me coming back to your books.

Hi Gary, Just finished An Almost Perfect Murder (I'm SO behind on my reading!). What a ride that was. As horrifying as that was and will always be, the way you wrote about it was like being there every step of the way--through the investigation, the trial and well, just everything. I'm going to be picking up more of yours, you can be sure of that. Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the book. You certainly do your research and then some!

Early Endorsements for “A Circle of Souls”

Linda Fairstein, NYT Bestselling Author: "A fascinating debut - this novel takes the reader to the darkest places in the human soul, from a writer with the authenticity to lead us there. A stunning thriller and an important read."

Judge Judy Sheindlin, star of the Judge Judy Show: "The seminal work of this fine author kept me glued to my chair until the adventure was over and the mystery solved. A great read!"

Book Synopsis:

The sleepy town of Newbury, Connecticut, is shocked when a little girl is found brutally murdered. The town s top detective, perplexed by a complete lack of leads, calls in FBI agent Leia Bines, an expert in cases involving children.

Meanwhile, Dr. Peter Gram, a psychiatrist at Newbury s hospital, searches desperately for the cause of seven-year-old Naya Hastings devastating nightmares. Afraid that she might hurt herself in the midst of a torturous episode, Naya s parents have turned to the bright young doctor as their only hope.

The situations confronting Leia and Peter converge when Naya begins drawing chilling images of murder after being bombarded by the disturbing images in her dreams. Amazingly, her sketches are the only clues to the crime that has panicked Newbury residents. Against her better judgment, Leia explores the clues in Naya s crude drawings, only to set off an alarming chain of events.

Gary - Great job on Butcher!! It's too bad the law enforcement officials of Vancouver denied any involvement on the part of Robert Pichton in the disappearance of women around town, but I like how you showed that there were some smart enough to smell a rat and fish him out of his mud hole. While the idea of the existence of such a person makes my skin crawl, I did enjoy the book and loved reading how the investigation and interrogation unfolded. It's just sad they weren't able to do it sooner.

Those are some extremely bizarre stories in your blog. Where do you find those stories? How do you get all that information about crimes that occur in other countries? That is fascinating. Joyce

Yes, that was it. I did some browsing through my investigative show sites and notes and found this case. That's how I had first heard about it. I should have recognized it just from the name 'Butcher'. Thanks for the additional reference.
