Born in Walla Walla, WA. Lived in Seattle, Las Vegas, and currently, L.A.
About Me:
Edgar Award winner and two-time Anthony Award nominee, I write mystery fiction, true crime, Tie-Ins for movies/TV, and make myself a general media nuisance. I currently live in the Greater Los Angeles area...in other words, the valley (Van Nuys) but LOVE Santa Monica and wish I could move back to the other side of the hill.
My nephews Lee and Tod Goldberg also write books, so they must be on the list.
Leslie Charteris, creator of THE SAINT -- anything he wrote is fine with me.
Jack Olsen -- good friend and mentor -- his "Last Man Standing" is one of the best books I've ever read.
Movies And TV Shows I Like:
I love movies! I attend the SAG Hollywood Film Society Screenings AND the TV Academy screenings on the same day !! Then stop at the video store to rent more!!!
This week's show will be a rerun as I am back in Seattle visiting my son, Jordan Barer.
April 25th our guest is Lis Wiehl of Fox News. The next week is her husband, Mickey Sherman!! Cool, huh?
Peter Chris of LEAP was far more amusing than I ever imagined. You really should hear this guy..in fact, if you are already here, you are hearing him on my show right now. The videos of Peter on YouTube are also excellent.
FRED ROSEN! I met Fred in Philly at BCon back in 1996 when his book Lobster Boy was a hot item. Now days, the diadem of success has crowned all his efforts in both contemporary and historical true crime. Fred graciously consented to put up with my nonsense and Don Woldman's pithy questions and commentary when he joined us on the air Saturday the 13th ...that's the show you hear playing right now on my CrimeSpace player.
Not only is fred an excellent author, he is a super guy. If you must choose between buying Fred's books or my books, buy mine. Friendly generosity only goes so far, and we both need to make a living. Okay, buy both.
Hi Burl,
Thanks for befriending me here on Crimespace. I'm always interested in seeing what other mystery/suspense authors have to say about the promotion side of the business.
Hello, just took out the comment from last year by moi. another draft set not in the 1940's but in the 1950's--and THIS ONE I'm sticking to!
just wanted to tell you that!
