I am a high school English teacher...nowadays, they call us "Language Arts" teachers...whatever! I teach, and love teaching, 12th grade. I have taught for just shy of 30 years...
I am a Christian, and not a weirdo religious poophead, but I do love Jesus... can I hear an "amen"?
I have recently found and fallen in love with the books of two wonderful mystery writers: Laurien Berenson and Susan Conant. What I LOVE about these books is the inclusion of the dogs...learning about dogs...as a matter of fact, I won't be reading anything BUT books including dogs for quite some time...I AM HOOKED!!
If you know of any other authors of mystery books who include dogs, please let me know! Preferably female authors/main characters, too.
I just learned today that my first two titles are now available as e-books. I don't know if that interests you, but here's the link:http://tinyurl.com/239gn9
I also made the first step toward having the rights revert back to me so that I can either have another publisher take over re-publishing the first 2 books, or publish them myself.
I'm happy to know you're a fan of my books. I'm still working on getting my first 2 novels reprinted in some fashion. (Avon isn't interested at this point.) All I can say is that sometimes on Amazon, when there hasn't been any interest in a title for a while, the price will come down to around $10. Unfortunately, it seems like a lot of people are catching up with the series and are willing to pay these weirdly exorbitant prices. If you check in regularly you might find a better deal.
If you're looking for dog mysteries, that's what I do! My books feature a crime-solving couple, and have lots of dog training tips woven into the storylines.
Hi, Lori-- noticed your picture and wondered if that's a Golden with you-- I have one I love. Check out Jeff Cohen's As Dog is My Witness for a fun mystery with a dog.
I studiously avoid books and films about dogs, because I love dogs so, and cannot bear to see/read about them being harmed. (Humans, no problem.) But I do love Jesus. So, Amen, sister!
( I do have several dogs in my novel. But nothing bad happens to them.)
Well, this is a nice space to meet mystery authors and hopefully, some fans, too. I have some characters and plots "in me own head" that I hope to get down in print one of these days... I'd love to write!!
Hi, Lori! Try NOSE FOR TROUBLE by Doranna Durgin. It's out in hardcover from Five Star, but right now it's also available from WorldWide mystery in paperback. Here's the URL. (You can even read an excerpt!)

(Nice doggie, by the way...)
Laura... I hear ya... I am ok with bad people being hurt, but there is not a bad dog...only bad dog owners! (and way too many of them)...
