Hi Christine - I tried a quick, random Google search and got this: http://www.amazon.com/Pray-Jordan-Lacey-Stella-Whitelaw/dp/0727855921 Looking at the info about 'Wave and Die' I found a reference to a VW Beetle painted like a ladybird, so I reck...

Just a short review of a book you deem forgotten--any genre. The project has been running 16 months now, with about ten books mentioned a week. 150-200 words about the book is typical, how you discovered it, anything like that. And include a few lines about yourself. If you go to my blog, you can see the samples from Friday on there. http://pattinase.blogspot.com
Love to include you.

Why eye, man!

Been getting back into photography after many years of never picking up a camera - so I thought it only right and proper that I swapped that random green eye I've been using as my avatar for ages for one of my own. Even took a full face shot and put it on Facebook! I'll have to see if I can post a pic of me writing: it's just catching me at it that's proving difficult...

If Dyno-Rod did brains...

...I'd give 'em a call. Can't read, can't write, can't hold a thought straight in my head. Got the black dog dozing by the hearth and every now and then he wakes up and nips at my heels. No reason for any of this so far as I can see, but isn't that how it works? Yeah, thought so. Time will pass and all will be well. Just got to sit it out. Meantime, there's always the Internet to waste inordinate amounts of time on. What would we do without it!

Mine's (still) a pint!

Good news for those of us who deal in pints, pounds, feet, inches and miles... the EU has finally decided to back off and leave us alone! An undoubtedly wise decision and all the more rare because of it. Cheers!

Getting older is a good thing

Not necessarily a popular view, I know, but on the whole I've enjoyed the process so far and let's face it, it beats the shit out of the alternative. I find it fascinating how I and others change as the years pass - in my twenties, I was very much not the person I had been in my teens, in my thirties I had moved on again and now that I'm sauntering through my forties, more change happens. Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm still essentially the same person - I'm even still hung up on some shit I should… Continue

Scotland

Jeez, I love the place! Just back from the annual pilgrimage to the fest/west coast. Short trip this year, but still fitted in a bunch of comedy shows and a fine dose of street theatre in Edinburgh, a stay in Glengarry which included a trip over to Skye, and lunch with the absolutely fabulous Ms Donna Moore in Glasgow on the way home. (Thanks, Doll!)

Common themes at the fest's comedy gigs this year were: how miserable the Scots are (not true); how grasping Heather Mills is (um...), how… Continue
