My first crime thriller 'Frantic' was released by Pan Macmillan in Australia in May 2007, and the second book in the series, 'The Darkest Hour', will be published in May 2008. The books will also be released in Europe in the coming year.
I was an ambulance officer for fifteen years and like to bung lots of that experience into the text. Much like my good buddy Leigh Redhead does, only with less pole dancing.
Leigh Redhead; Tess Gerritsen; Michael Connelly; Michael Robotham; Peter Temple; Harlan Coben; Dennis Lehane; Kate Morton. Oh dern it, just looked at others' pages -- how COULD I have forgotten the marvellous Laura Lippman? Now I'm going to hell for sure.
Movies And TV Shows I Like:
The Office (original UK version); Seinfeld; The Wire (oh man); The Shield; NYPD Blue.

Jst wanted to say I loved "The Darkest Hour", if anything I tought it was better than Frantic. And Frantic was brilliant. I'll have to let the Deni Para's know of this one as well
Hi Katherine
I've sent the message below through usual email channels and it's bounced back to I thought I try this route....
I have been meaning to write and congratulate you on your much-deserved Davitt Award.
I was at Varuna for the Longlines Commuity Week when the Awards were on in Melbourne. (It was the first time I had missed the Award ceremony).
Although I knew that I had won - on behalf of the actual authors - the Readers' Vote Davitt for Scarlet Stiletto the first cut, and made an announcement to that effect over dinner that night - because I could; I didn't know who else had won until Saturday morning.
When I told the lovely Peter Bishop that two Varuna alumni had won awards he was so thrilled - and HE made an announcement about both of us at the Open Day that weekend.
I hope you're writing up a storm
cheers

Wonderful news about "Frantic' - I'll keep a lookout for it and for 'Panic' when it comes (have you read Terry Lane's 'Hectic' - looks like it should be in your series.
