Never apologise for your work! I'm really looking forward to reading more of it. BTW my email is karenlongwriter@gmail.com. Much easier to communicate that way. Firstly do you NEED an agent? Or are you doing bloody well yourself. That's the joy of self publishing. You do have to compromise or be a tiddler in the agent's pond. You are published and getting recommendations which is what an agent would do for you. Look at their site and tick on submissions but before you do I recommend that you buy the writers and artists yearbook. It gives you the skinny on pros and cons and most importantly HOW to apply. There's a protocol. You have all of the agents details and who/what they are looking for. Hope that's helpful x

I agree totally. I did self publish for a week or so but got picked up by an agency

lawagency.co.uk who worked with me on tightening the text and then published me themselves under the White Glove scheme. It extremely helpful having an agent and I love working with Peta. I'm on the client list if you want to check me out. x

Lurve the furniture. Just followed your link to The fussy librarian. I'm just a couple of comments short of applying. Soooo if you like The Safe Word post a comment and rating. I shall do likewise. x

Yup got it! I've downloaded a copy and will get onto that during coffee break. I've just noticed that you're a furniture designer/maker. Interesting. Send pics

Hi Kerry

Not quite a Shropshire lass but married a Shropshire lad! Like you I'm newly published on Amazon and POD. Want to swap reads? I will send you the link and you do the same. What did you study at Brum and what sort of market research? I'm a third of the way through a follow up to The Safe Word and am an enthusiastic runner. I'm hoping to do the 'Tough Mudder' challenge this year so I can be irritatingly smug my son did it last year and I was desperate to get in there but not sure about the upper body strength needed. Wet and cold I like x So heres the link to The Safe Word and send me yours. Kxx

Befriend away! I'm Shropshire based, married with three grown up kids (numerically and legally rather than emotionally). I love reading and travelling have way too many bloody pets (and kids). Read your profile but can't share your reviewing of JK Rowling's new book as haven't read it but love Scandi thrillers, American noir but haven't settled on a Brit writer that grabs me yet. But could be persuaded. Tell me about France and why? x
