Hometown:
Whistler, B.C., Canada
About Me:
Loreth Anne White was born and raised in southern Africa, but now lives in Whistler, a ski resort in the moody British Columbian Coast Mountain range. It’s a place of vast, wild and often dangerous mountains, larger-than-life characters, epic adventure, and romance — the perfect place to escape reality.

It’s no wonder it was here she was inspired to abandon a 16-year career as a reporter, features writer, and editor (under the name Loreth Beswetherick) to escape into a world of romantic fiction filled with dangerous men and adventurous women.

When she’s not writing you will find her long-distance running, biking or skiing on the trails, and generally trying to avoid the bears – albeit not very successfully. She calls this work, because it’s when the best ideas come.

Hello Loreth, I love your sleigh snippet above. Very cool. I was up at Whistler this weekend and skied like crazy. It was a bit nippy on Sunday but that just made us ski harder. My daughter has developed a fondness for tree skiing and bumps and her poor mommy is a tad sore today. We will be up for a week in February too. Enjoy the clear skies - great for lots of head clearing walks.

Glad you are enjoying Antler Dust. Keep me posted on your thoughts ! I'd love to know. A fire sounds appropriate, for sure. Thanks for the update.

Out of curiosity, favorite Nevada Barr book? I haven't read them all but loved "Blind Descent."

Well, thank for checking out Antler Dust. What can one say? It's good to know that the window-dressing / PR stuff "around" a book does connect out there. I appreciate your searching and reading the blurbs and reviews and would love to know your thoughts if you decide to track it down.

Hi Loreth, since we are pretty well neighbours, I thought I would say hello. I love skiing and we go up to Whistler quite a bit. We have friends in Whistler Cay and Alpine where we usually stay. Are you coming down for the writer's fest this week on Granville Island? I am going to see Elizabeth George on Saturday. Good luck with your new book -I don't know much about tracking, but my dad worked up north near Watson Lake for many years, so if there is a small mining town in your book I have some good stories! Take care and drop me a line.

Loreth, thanks very much for the invite. I'm embarrassed to tell you how long I spent looking for the grouse in that photo...

I've been to your beautiful Whistler when I spent 10 days in Vancouver. We toured the area quite a bit. Loved it. Thanks for the request and your books sound wonderful. I lived in Alaska for 10 years so the area of the world you write about intrigues me too. Best wishes to you!! Delete Comment

"Lekker" to hear from you Loreth. You're right about how beautiful Cape Town is. But up in the mountains where you are, those lakes and trees and nature like nature intended - that's true beauty.
