A good historical-fiction writer can transport the reader through a time machine back to the day. Believe me, it’s hard to do and I take great pains to succeed when I write a Lucien Caye or Jacques Dugas mystery and especially with the book I’m writing now (I’ve been living in 1814 for over a year). Robert S. Levinson makes it look easy in his latest, “Regarding Certain Occurrences In A Cottage At The Garden of Allah” (in the current issue of ALFRED HITCHCOCK MYSTERY MAGAZINE – November 2009)Continue

Hi O'Neil -- It's a pleasure to meet you. You can't beat New Orleans as a setting for crime fiction. My wife has family from New Iberia. Best wishes for continued success with your writing. Reece

Remind me to keep my politics off this site. I have enough of that on Facebook and other sites. I'm looking for some true writing focus here. Looks like I'll find it with these fertile minds.

O'Neil, thanks for the invitation. I'm looking forward to my associating with such a fine group of folks on CrimeSpace. I'm hoping that Karen will join us, also. She's the better writer between us.

Hey O'Neil,

I loved visiting New Orleans, even dreamed of moving there. But I haven't been back since Katrina.

I enjoyed your story at Thrilling Detective and recall reading something of yours in Ellery Queen (Maybe the New Orleans issue they did years back. Is that right?)

Anyways, good luck with the novels and thanks for adding me as a friend.
