Ron, check the 5th line from the bottom. The last word appears to be incomplete. The meaning of that line or the entire poem is effected by that word. Or, my ignorance is showing like a slip below a hemline.

Moral Dilemma reminds me of The Black Dahlia with a twist: the son carries the same gene and continues the behavioral pattern. That has some potential worth exploiting.

You can find more information on Karen's murder mysteries at her website:

Check her out. Her work is intriguing. She has a style somewhere between James Patterson and Nora Roberts. One of her readers called her the next Daniel Steele. I believe that you'll find her more of a mystery writer than a romance writer, though.

Enjoy!

Your Life and Your Ride

Your Life and Your Ride

When your ride
Is cold, hard steel

And your day
Is long, hot and hostile,

How do you end
Your night's lonely thoughts?

Are they cold and hard
Like your ride?

Are they long, hot and hostile
Like your day?

Are do you separate
The job from your personal life?

It is a struggle
That leaves many
Swimming in the sauce
Or choking on a barrel.

But,
It doesn't have to be.

One knee or two,
A prayful request will do.

And,
A good night's sleep
Will usher into your lif… Continue

But the Idea Gets Across

But the Idea Gets Across

Rythme, ryhmn, broken time,
I write as rough as the edge of a dime.

Thoughts, themes, ideas, schemes,
I've got plenty of them, in my dreams....

Smoothness? Yes, sir!
I will try,

But like the dime,
That's rough on edge,

My works pass on in time,
And they act as though a wedge.

Place them in their right spots,
And watch them open your thoughts.

Read them when they're red hot,
And you'll like what you have bought.

The price is not in money,
But the time is wh… Continue

Flutes and Flambeauxs

Flutes and Flambeauxs

What is this strange land
Of flutes and flambeauxs

Dancing in the streets
To musak with strange beats?

It is the collage
Of cultures mixed

With French, Spanish, Creole
And international flare.

Have you seen the Indians
Of this partying town?

Yes, they call themselves Indians.
Dressed in flamboyant costumes

With beads and feathers
And painted faces.

Playing flutes and horns
Of mixed, music blends.

Dancing wildly
In the streets

Of the town
They call Novelle O… Continue

Roger,
I just found out about these guys. It's a good group. Serious stuff all about writing. No political, religious or personal jabs, which suits me fine. Get enough of that on Facebook.
