About Me:: I am fifty-ish, twice married, twice divorced. Mother of two wonderful adult children. Daughter 30 years old and son, 22 who is married to a Chinese girl. Have an empty nest now which I am enjoying immensely. I have been interested in all aspects of crime for over 20 years. Non-fiction crime books and websites are my passion. If I had my 'time' over again I would of loved to be involved in solving crime, especially murders of all kinds.

Elizabeth A Lynn (writer of Fantasy fiction).

Movies And TV Shows I Like:: TV Shows: Anything crime related! Sci-Fi and Horror.
Movies: Anything pure escapism related, like Pirates of the Caribbean and Ice Age. Horror, thrillers, suspense movies grab me the most.

Suzi's daughter wins award

On August 26th 2007 my daughter became the Australian Airbrush Body Art Champion of Australia!
She has had her own business for 8 years now and is 30, beautiful, single, artistic and fussy. A picture of her and her model will be posted for all to see on the slideshow part of my home page here and in my photobucket album for 2007.
Happy 2008 to everyone. May the New Year bring you every good thing your hearts desire.

Aussie author wins crime writing prize

Australian author Peter Temple has picked up the world's richest prize for crime writing at a glittering awards ceremony in London.

Temple won the UK Crime Writers Association's prestigious Duncan Lawrie Dagger Award, also known as the Gold Dagger, claiming STG20,000 ($A47,400) in the process.

The Ballarat-based author was awarded the prize for his eighth novel, The Broken Shore.

My book, The Beatitudes, is a paranormal thriller set in New Orleans. It will be out in the fall and I am donating all royalties directly to the New Orleans Public Library Foundation. Libraries support the infrastructure of a great city, so I have started The Beatitudes Network to promote awareness of the importance of public libraries in NOLA.

I went on a 3 day course last year in Oxford for writing true crime (as they have a habit of calling it here) and met some really interesting people. There seems to be quite a good market for this sort of research and inventive writing to fill out the bare facts. Research is my thing as I work freelance in publishing on education or academic books with the pictures. I love losing myself in research at the Bodleian Library or the British Museum or Library. It is just good when I get paid to do it. My youngest is almost 18 and will be in Sydney from end Aug until mid Dec working at the Sydney Globe Centre. I am coming out for an extended holiday (from 30 Nov) so might be in your neck of the woods, so maybe we could have coffee?

The only writer I recognized on your list was Ann Rule - and she is phenomenal at capturing the essence of a crime story. I haven't read many nonfiction crime stories, but I might check out some of your recommendations.

Yes, my books are available in Australia from Orion Books. I was over last year for the Melbourne Writers festival, and to promote LIGHTS OUT...I think the mass market of LIGHTS OUT should be out soon....and my new novel THE FOLLOWER as well

Not sure of what you mean by 'exchange'. All the authors I have listed are from the US as far as I know. Books are expensive here also. I get my 'fix' from the local public Library. There are a lot of 2nd hand book stores that exchange books also. It is winter her at the moment but living where I do in south east Queensland, I am still in my summer clothers.
