Profile Information

Hometown:
Milwaukee, Wis.
About Me:
After traveling the world on a shoestring for twelve years, without ever having to actually ever do a days WORK!, I have decided to retire from retirement and have taken up the WORK! of writing.
I was born in Milwaukee, and a BA from UW, and an MA from Brandeis, convinced me that the academic world was too cold for my blood, so I decided to become a drug addict, of sorts. For a year-and-a-half, I lived at the estate in Millbrook, NY, which was the world headquarters for Timothy Leary's League for Spiritual Discovery. I was smack-dab in the heart of it all. I spent the next few years in an American ashram in Arizona. Then I lived in Tuscon for eight years where I put to use the skills I had learned and became a handyman, supplementing my meager income by shoplifting. (In those days, everything belonged to everybody)
Then I moved to San Francisco, further honed my skills and became a general contractor, mostly remodeling old Victorian buildings.
Then I got sick of WORK! and floated around the world like a dandelion seed on the wind.
Today, I live in Puerto Vallarta with my fellow dandelion seed Maria Ruiz, a talented writer herself, two rescue poodles, and a rescue cat who continues to behave as if it was she who rescued us. Go figure.
With all that stuff behind me, I figured that it would be a shame not to write about it, so I have been suffering a severe case of logorrhea for the past few years. I have written four book length titles, about a dozen short stories, numerous essays, and I am presently working on an historical novel about a Jewish family, exiled from Spain in 1492, and how they get caught up in an adventure to find and return the fabled lost harp of King David to Jerusalem. I hope I live long enough to finish it, because I'd really like to know how it ends.

Heist of the (15th) Century

I may be here under somewhat false pretenses, so let me begin by confessing before you beat it out of me with truncheons. I am not a writer of crime fiction - at least not yet. In fact, until a few years ago, I wasn't a writer of anything besides voice-overs for my numerous travel videos, and nasty and satirical responses to the idiots on various blog sites, usually political.…
