Yeah I was in St. Charles.
It's this way: I loved doing Main Street Books and Soho's publicist queried them about repeating the dose this year. But it wasn't convenient. We couldn't make the dates work because her daughter was expecting a baby and..oh, heck, she'll tell you the whole story when you see her.
Sad thing was, that it was all over by the time I got to St. Charles and I could have done a talk after all. We had a nice chat, though, and I hope to go back next year.
So what was I doing in St. Charles if not talking and signing? Well, I loved the look of the place so much that I wanted to see it in daylight. So I drove over from St. Louis to do just that, and when I saw that Main Street was open, I just dropped in.
We talked about you, we talked about Joanna, and we talked about the business, all of which was fun. But she didn't have a stock to sign. A sign of the times? Maybe. I went from there up to Carmel, IN and had a great signing at Jim Huang';s place. Tonight I'm in Delray Beach and tomorrow in Houston. In fact, I'm all over the US in the next couple of months. Unfortunately, nowhere near you. The remainder of my schedule is on Booktour and on my my site. Buried is getting great reviews, I'm happy to say. After New England we go to Paris for three months, where I'll be speaking at the American Library and finishing my fourth book, the one for January of 2111. Then, in July, it's back to Brazil. The third book Dying Gasp is in galley correction, and I hope to finish it before leaving Florida. How's everything with you?

If you check " MY PAGE ", I believe you'll find the subject for your next book. The location of the crimes was Venice IL, just on the other side of the McKinley Bridge. Knowing the area as I'm sure you do, what I have to show you will be absolutely believable. Please look it over and let me know one way or the other.
