It was a great idea: a 'Wine' & Cheese & Books party in a library. Snack and beverages prompted mixing and mingling. Each of the writers read from our work, then we had trivia contests and other book-related games. The only thing wrong with the event was that it was too short.Also, my review of The Shadow Tracer is in this month’s The Big Thrill, the newsletter of the International Thriller Writers. What if you had to give up your entire life and disappear in order to keep your family…See More

I'm the author of 5 detective novels in the Hannibal Jones series - Blood and Bone, Collateral Damage, The Troubleshooter, Damaged Goods and Russian Roulette, plus two action adventure novels, The Payback Assignment and The Orion Assignment. I'm active in several local writers organizations and I'm a past president of the Northern Virginia chapter of the Virginia Writers Club. I teach writing courses at Anne Arundel Community College. By day I'm a public affairs specialist for the Defense Department. For more than a decade the American Forces Network carried my radio and television news reports.

In BLOOD AND BONE - An eighteen-year-old boy lies dying of leukemia. Kyle's only hope is a bone marrow transplant, but no one in his wealthy Virginia family can safely supply it. Kyle's family has nowhere to turn until they learn of a certain troubleshooter, a self-styled knight errant in dark glasses named Hannibal Jones. He has two weeks to find the missing man, but his search turns up much more: A woman who might be Kyle's illegitimate sister, the woman who could be her mother, and the man who may have killed Kyle's father.

Hannibal follows a twisting, winding path of deception, conspiracy and greed, from Washington to Mexico, pursuing the truth. But with each step closer to it he gets, the danger grows.

Forgive me if I remember this incorrectly, but wasn't THE TROUBLESHOOTER originally self-published? There's a current discussion here about the pros and cons of self-publishing you may be uniquely suited to participate in, were you so inclined.

Did you come up with Hannibal's given name before or after Harris's Hannibal Lecter? I ask only that Harris's villain's name casts some rather dark aspersions on any other character attempting to overcome the cannibal's stigma.
