About Me:
Heirloom Bookstore attends the many and varied Mystery events selling books to the reading public, at least they promise us they read them. We also carry Modern Literature, Fiction, Children's & Illustrated Books, Americana, and Rare Books in a variety of fields. With over 20 years of experience in the collectible trade, we have done everything from making and repairing books to working in the Library software and Antiquarian book field. Jack of all book trades it seems!

Artistic Value of Murder

I just got off the phone with a customer who purchased a high end art book from us. We chatted some about the scuplture's body of work and how it has increased rapidly in value over the years. Our customer mentioned that he used to collect fiction but got out of the market when the costs got too high which brought us to discussing how he picked the art he is collecting now. He stated, "I only collect works by artists who have died. This way I know there is a finite number of items to be… Continue

I'm saving my travel $ for next year, after the May release of my book, TO HELL IN A HANDBASKET, the sequel to A REAL BASKET CASE. I definitely plan to attend Bouchercon in Indianapolis next year. I presume you'll be there, too?

Wondered if I could impose on your expertise. In my sixth Emerson Ward mystery, one of the bad guys washes money by purchasing old books. I suggested a 1690 fifth edition copy of Shakespeare's The Tempest and a first edition of Salinger's Catcher in The Rye would together be worth about $20K in good condition. Your thoughts?

What a wonderful sounding bookstore. Sorry to hear about your dog--I know how hard that can be.

I'm so sorry to hear about your lab. It's really hard to know that animal friends are with us for such a short time.

It will be our first visit so pretty excited about it. Figure we might want to see it BEFORE it melts away.....well not really but you know what we mean. Any suggestions on a great seafood place to dine? -Michelle

So we are up and running, thanks again Sandra for the gentle reminder to join in the fray. Has been rather pleasant to wake up with a cup of java this am and see all the kind friend requests. (Never have been so popular before in our life, well perhaps a few bar settings might have come close but only when we were buying!) Looking forward to posting real comments in the future as we get our crimespace "legs" under us! Best, Michelle
