I am the author of two books, GOTHIC DOO-WOP and PARROT ON A LIMB. The latter is the first installment in the Quinn McKay mystery series. Quinn is a shepherd and PI in Ojai, CA. He no longer wants to be a PI, but hey, he keeps finding dead bodies and mysteries in this scenic town. This is what I call New Age pastoral noir. I am working on the second installment of the series along with the first installment of a new series featuring a college student (amateur sleuth).
I teach English and ESL at Los Angeles Pierce College and at Moorpark College. Currently, I serve as corresponding secretary of Sisters in Crime Los Angeles. I live with my two dogs and lots of books!
Fave authors: William Faulkner, Barbara Kingsolver, Amy Tan, Flannery O'Connor, Dennis Lehane, Dana Stabenow, Nevada Barr, Alexander McCall Smith, William Shakespeare, and the list goes on
Top Five Fave Books: Faulkner's THE SOUND AND THE FURY; Leo Tolstoy's ANNA KARENINA, Fitzgerald's THE GREAT GATSBY, Kazuo Ishiguro's THE REMAINS OF THE DAY, and Lehane's MYSTIC RIVER
Movies And TV Shows I Like:
THE SOPRANOS, DESPARATE HOUSEWIVES, SEX AND THE CITY, documentaries, MIAMI VICE, DUE SOUTH
No fave flix--as long as they're well made, well written, and well acted

Lori, will you be with your LA Sisters at the LA Times Festival of Books? I always stop by the booth several times to say hi to friends. You can see some pics at my site. I'll be attending this year.
Hi Lori. thanks for the invitation. I assume I'll be seeing you at the SinC conference in your area. I believe I'm scheduled to present a workshop or two for you guys.
