I write noir set in metropolitan areas, filled with brutal language that is considered cutting edge, yet, remains a literary feast of pornographic images. Okay. That was a total lie. I write gritty PI mysteries set in western South Dakota. Basically, I'm a happily married midwestern housewife and mother of three. Ooh, don't you want to be my friend now? (Me waving my nifty .22 at the screen) My mystery novels are BLOOD TIES (Nominated for a Shamus Award for Best First Novel 2006), HALLOWED GROUND, and SHALLOW GRAVE (out in Nov. 07)
Nice cowboy hat! I actually have several in my closet. It seems that a person living in OKlahoma is not respected unless they have a cowboy hat and some boots (I have four pair). My wife (from LA) also had modified her attire and has two pair of boots and a cowboy hat. We also love the PBR.
Hi Lori sweetie,
The trip home was ok, but the conference was wonderful. I finished reading Blood Ties, I liked it, I liked it! On to the next Armstrong book......

I inadvertantly deleted your comments on my page (mea culpa *again*). It was not an editorial observation, only an all thumbs male trying to understand this new technology (and neither liquor nor firearms were involved!)
Hopefully, you'll be doing a signing in the Kansas City area some day soon!
I join your other fans in extending "congrats" for your Shamus nomination. *Very* well done!
WOW! I was just there last night and there's a Home Builder's show going on at the Quest too. My DH just told me the PBR event is in the arena. Big place. Unfortunately... I promised I'd strip wallpaper this weekend.
Lori - I did name Chilly after a filly named Chilukki. I could give you a name, too, if you want. Or would you rather be named after a bull? Bodacious is nice, even when it's not paired with Tatas.

Do you dare accept my bet?
Are you ready for Atlanta on the 29th? I'm predicting '08 will be Willingham's year.

Best wishes.
I still don't get it. Is it the bulls that drink the pabst blue ribbon or the riders?
Looking forward to seeing you at Mayhem!
