Virtual Ann - started Overbooked in 1994, about two years after that my husband stopped asking me "is it done yet?'. It still isn't done, and I'm still obsessively overbooked. Crime Fiction sections of Overbooked include starred review lists, some themed booklists and lists of forthcoming/notable titles. So many books, so little time and so much technology to absorb. . .

Professional Ann - Collection Mangement Administrator, Chesterfield County Public Library. I select fiction and music - life is good (but budgets could be better).

Early Endorsements for “A Circle of Souls”

Linda Fairstein, NYT Bestselling Author: "A fascinating debut - this novel takes the reader to the darkest places in the human soul, from a writer with the authenticity to lead us there. A stunning thriller and an important read."

Judge Judy Sheindlin, star of the Judge Judy Show: "The seminal work of this fine author kept me glued to my chair until the adventure was over and the mystery solved. A great read!"

Book Synopsis:

The sleepy town of Newbury, Connecticut, is shocked when a little girl is found brutally murdered. The town s top detective, perplexed by a complete lack of leads, calls in FBI agent Leia Bines, an expert in cases involving children.

Meanwhile, Dr. Peter Gram, a psychiatrist at Newbury s hospital, searches desperately for the cause of seven-year-old Naya Hastings devastating nightmares. Afraid that she might hurt herself in the midst of a torturous episode, Naya s parents have turned to the bright young doctor as their only hope.

The situations confronting Leia and Peter converge when Naya begins drawing chilling images of murder after being bombarded by the disturbing images in her dreams. Amazingly, her sketches are the only clues to the crime that has panicked Newbury residents. Against her better judgment, Leia explores the clues in Naya s crude drawings, only to set off an alarming chain of events.
In this stunning psychological thriller, innocence gives way to evil, and trust lies forgotten in a web of deceit, fear, and murder.

Hi Ann - Much obliged for the invite, ma'am ... I really appreciate it. You've got a great site going on there, and I hugely envy you your job ... I guess you go to work with a spring in your step! Cheers, Dec

Yeah, I like Pandora a lot, and since I have XM radio, I can listen to that on the computer. So much music, so little time.

The Walkabouts are great. Walter shared his some of CDs with me, as you know. Thanks for offering others, but I can listen to them (and have been) on a subscription service called Rhapsody. I've even heard a few minutes of the new Britney Spears CD. (That was plenty.)

Hi, Ann --

Thanks for the invitation. Like you, I'm overbooked, but that's better than no one wanting anything to do with you. Most of the time, anyway.

Anyway, glad to meet you.

Hi Ann:I would have left a comment earlier but I was...yes, overbooked. Was in Richmond this past weekend for a wedding and the mother of the bride asked me why I hadn't yet had a book signing there. I said it was because apparently, everyone was overbooked there.

Smiles,
Douglas Quinn

Ann,
I'm looking forward to the Socorro book, too. The page proofs are on my dining room table right now. It'll be so good to have it in the world. I love the University of New Mexico Press, but it sure does take a long time on some projects . . .

Or maybe I'm just impatient.

Next time you come to NM, look me up.
