Saturday I will visit with my friends at the Borders in the Boulevard at the Capital Centre. I'll be stationed near the newly-expanded African American interest sections at the front of the store across from the music department. They've hosted a lot of great guests at this store: Tyler Perry, Mo'Nique, Robin Thicke, Russell Simmons...…

I'll spend Saturday at the first annual Gaithersburg Book Festival. From 10am to 6pm the Gaithersburg City Hall Grounds will be alive with readers and writers. The event will feature presentations, book sales, and book-signings from authors of both national and local acclaim, as well as workshops for aspiring writers and activities…

This past weekend was a very good one for signing books. I think I had my best event to date at Baltimore Washington International Airport. The manager and staff there always treat me well (Thanks Dave &…

At last weekend's mystery conference we talked quite a bit about characters having believable motives. Even the most evil villains should be expected to pursue their objectives the easiest way. Some weekends are more fun than others, and this one was super. The fans at Malice Domestic are always warm and welcoming. Parnell Hall was hilarious, and it was moving to meet both Mary Higgins Clark and William Link (the guy who created Columbo, Mannix and tons of other great TV shows.) Aside from the awards banquet, the high point…

I like to share comments I receive about my work. Today I want to introduce Linda Halliburton.
I met Linda at the Virginia Festival of the Book in Charlottesville, VA where she picked up a copy of The Troubleshooter. She read it the next day on her flight home and was kind enough to send me some feedback. I've posted some of her comments on my website as this week's featured review. Read Linda Halliburton's review of The Troubleshooter - then order your own copy. -…

I had a great time Saturday visiting with old pals and meeting new authors at the Maryland Writers' Association Writers' Conference. There were a number of excellent sessions but one of the highpoints for me was the wonderful keynote address delivered by award-winning novelist Roxana Robinson. She was both encouraging and inspirational.…
