Reading List

summerreadinglist_istock_34481384_hires_983px One of the cool things about blogs is to ask a question at the end to entice comments. Well, I want to ask one at the beginning.

What are you reading right now?

Okay, don't be literal and say, “Dude, I'm reading your blog.”

I mean your reading list of books.

Are you like me and have several going at once?

Currently, I am reading:

- A book I'm recording for a friend. I read a chapter or two when I get the chance. I use Audacity to make the…

GUEST POST: Understanding Mitochondrial DNA with D.P. Lyle

dna

I’m absolutely delighted to have D.P. Lyle on my blog today! He’s an amazing writer, doctor, and forensic expert. I had the honor and opportunity to serve with him on a panel at Bouchercon 2014 to talk about forensics and the real CSI. I highly recommend that any writer, or anyone for that matter, who wants to incorporate anything about crime scene investigation and forensics into their stories to check out: Forensics for Dummies 2nd…

Getting Away with Murder: 4 Infamous Cases

blogPhoto_1

With murder, comes the inevitable feeling of tragedy and outrage. But, sometimes, the tragedy of the actual heinous act is overshadowed by the outrage of a great injustice. That is, when a murderer is not held accountable for their actions, and is set free to wreak havoc once again.

How does a murderer escape the…

Angels Burning by Tawni O'Dell

Could a book get much better than this? I was glued to the seat of my reading chair, I didn't want to miss a second of this whodunit.

Chief of Police, Dove Carnahan is called out to a brutal crime scene of a young girl. She knows she's over her head on this case so she calls in State Police CID Investigator Nolan for assistance. I fell in love with Chief Dove when she's out in this no…

Hidden Bodies (You #2) by Caroline Kepnes

Wow, what a ride! Ms. Kepnes is one of the best! This is one dark series but it's so addictive. I love her characters they are so unreal!!! I had trouble getting into this at the beginning for some reason, but I buckled down and I got lost in Joe Goldberg and the other characters. We are introduced to real doozies in this latest installment of her series. …

Criminal Potential

A BOY WITH POTENTIAL

I hate that question, 'How do you get your ideas?' But for once I can answer.

Some years ago I was watching the news.  A U.S school was in a state of panic after multiple shootings by an adolescent.  The account was truly shocking and the outcomes were followed closely by the media over several days. Sadly, there have been other such events since, in and outside of…
