Public Access Cable

This morning, I made arrangements for a cable access program on my books. I'll be discussing the content, process, and whatever my interviewer has in mind.

But I have since discovered there is a nationwide distributor of cable access programming. That means more than the 15 or so viewers in the old hometown; there is a potential audience of millions.

Has anyone else tried this? With what results?

Brian Feinblum, Chief Marketing Officer at Media Connect, formerly Planned Television Arts

What type of books do you write, Steven?

WCNL Interview

I had a great interviewing experience with Steve Smith, the morning host for WCNL Country. We talked about my new novel, about Sherlock Holmes, writing, media, you name it. A half hour that went much too quickly.

I'll post the MP3 when I get a chance.

CSI events in UK proving to be a big hit with crime fiction and CSI fans

CSI Basingstoke, where crime fiction met crime fact, held on Saturday 6 July at the Basingstoke Discovery Centre in Hampshire, England, was a big hit with the audience. The sell out event was attended by a capacity audience of fifty crime fiction and CSI fans.

The event was modelled on the highly successful CSI Portsmouth, which I first organised in 2010. This year will be the fourth year of CSI Portsmouth,…

Author needs marketing advice.

For those of you who don't already know, I have recently published my first contemporary crime novel, "Secrets Can't Be Kept Forever," in which crime reporter Ace Herron discovers that a routine case of embezzlement and childnapping is much, much more.

We all know the hard part: getting the word out. I will have a formal launch party on August 1, and I'm working on some other things. But if you're an author with minimal name recognition and you're moving books, please let me know how…

Around the Globe with KRIS ELISE

"What? You're posting on a Saturday? What's up with that?"

Yeah, I know, but some of these authors are so high maintenance (just kidding!) that I had to acquiesce. Sigh!  Anyway, now that summer is here I thought this week's featured guest would love someplace cool to visit while doing our interview. Guess what? She takes control of the transporter and soon…

Another Great Thriller I didn't write

If your idea of a great thriller involves conspiracy on a grand scale with a larger-than-life hero facing off against an equally impressive villain, you couldn’t do much better than to pick up THE KING, the newest thriller from Steven James. Read my review in The Big Thrill – newsletter of the International Thriller Writers. http://www.thebigthrill.org/2013/06/the-king-by-steven-james
