Sometime in the next few weeks, I will be celebrating my birthday. I won't tell you exactly when, because for identity theft protection purposes, I protect the date almost as well as I protect my social security number and full name. I will divulge that I am a Leo. And, don't ask how old I'm going to be either! ;-)
To celebrate, instead of collecting gifts, I am giving…

(1st excerpt from Dealer of Death)
Two hours later Steele found himself driving through the roughest neighborhood in the city. No one in their right mind would come down here alone in the daytime and most cops wouldn't risk traveling through this part of town late at night but somehow on this dark, quiet night Alexander Steele seemed to be drawn to it. There was movement in shadows of the blocks and blocks of abandon buildings where it was commonplace to see hundreds of… Continue

Having cut my teeth, so to speak, on long mystery fiction, I decided to try my hand at shorter pieces. I found a site, FictionWritersPlatform.net where short stories of all genres can be posted. My first offering, a short humor/mystery, "Dead Letter," won an Editors Choice Award, and got lots of email from people who were upset that I apparently killed the main character at the end. Bowing to popular opinion, I revived him in "Return to Sender," which also won an Editors Choice Award, and got…

Somehow they just don't seem real. I got word this morning that my e-book, GO HOME AND DIE, has indeed become a published work. But where is the box of books I can unpack and admire?
My brain tells me that an e-book is real. Acquaintances tell me they love them. My publisher tells me it will soon be available on amazon. You can't get more real than that, right?
So I must believe it. To help with that, I'm giving away gift certificates for GO HOME AND DIE.…

While traveling we always have new experiences, whether they are amazing, life changing or just disillusioning. Tell us your travel story. It may deal with a travel journey to a new place, time traveling, revisiting one's past, visiting a lost love or a new one, or an inner journey. Travel reports can be as much about one's internal navigation of their emotions as a physical voyage.
There is currently running a free-to-enter short story contest on BookRix for writers and readers. The…

When you go through medical procedures these days, they often ask about your pain tolerance. I never know what to say, having not dealt with a lot of physical pain in my life. If I have a headache, I take something and it goes away. I don't know where that rates on a scale of 1 to 10.

It's happening at http.//murderousmusings.com Rob Walker gives away the secrets that sold over 40 novels. It has to be commercial, it has to be compelling, and it has to be succinct but how do you condense a 90,000 words into a synopsis and an outlline? Here's how. Find me at Murderous Musings as I am on Blog Tour for DEAD ON coming out July from Five Star.
