BBC Radio Solent Called

BBC Radio Solent called today to ask me if I would be happy to be featured as one of ‘Julian’s People’ to follow throughout 2009. Of course I jumped at the chance. Julian Clegg presents a very lively radio programme from 6.30am to 9.30am every weekday.

Copy edits, Cornwall and Newcastle

I have just finished going through the copy-edit proofs for DEAD MAN'S WHARF, the new DI Andy Horton marine mystery crime novel due to be published in hardback on 29 April 2009. There weren't any revisions to the manuscript thank goodness and only a few small alterations but this is a task that I am not overly fond of. Why? A busy year ahead

In Cold Daylight Now Published in Poland

In Cold Daylight was published in Poland today. Renamed Fire And Water ( Ogien i Woda) this is the second of my marine mystery crime novels to be published in Polish. How do writers see themselves?

I’m giving a talk tomorrow at Bracknell Library in Berkshire, Hampshire, and I am looking forward to it. It is always good to connect with people, and at these types of events to discuss books (not only mine but other writers) and to discover what people like and why they like them. It also helps to provide me with ideas for possible future books, plays and screenplays. And it reminds me who my audience are i.e. who I am writing for and why I write.… Continue

Agents v. Readers

I'm just venting. This blog has no point, except to get out of my mind, the latest adventure in what I'm calling, My AgentQuest.

Hmmm. I'm not sure what to make of my situation. I have done several rounds of edits and revisions to my manuscript, CHILD SUPPORT. I have queried agents and after only one partial and one full read, everyone has passed, mostly on the personalized letter alone.
