The Crime of Microsoft Word for Novel Writing!

Happily editing my novel for submission, I've hit a Microsoft Word wall -- again! It seems that documents over an unspecified number of pages -- novel length for sure! -- cause the program to stop saving changes.

It's bringing out the Buddhist in me for sure...at which point, I remember I'm a failed Buddhist – the gal who gave a flat tire to the Zenner ahead of her in walking meditation, having found it beyond her means to not-think and walk at the same time. (I thought he'd be Zen about it...but he wasn't. Where was his Zen sense o' humor?
Is there no place in dawn practice for the sound of one foot slapping? Seemingly not.)

Anyway...am looking fwd to circumventing the woes of Word by cutting my novel into edible bits of, say, four chapters each and editing 'em from there.

For now, I'm off to palate-cleanse by reading for a wildlife PSA.

bb, the bichon, sleeps on my chair.

Gautama found peace under a Boddhi tree...

Perhaps we writers can Zen out on an Aeron and a prayer?

Happy day to all!

Hi, I think that should be Zens of humour!! I don't have any problems with long word docs and over all find word more stable when editing one long doc rather than many small ones. Happy to help with advice, you can email me direct on ali4jace@aol.com and I'll help if I can. (I escaped an IT dept to write!), all the best, Alison
