Hi Brian - a pleasure to accept the hand of friendship. Have now joined a writing group that is headed up by Lindy Cameron, a very positive step, my writing has been given a huge boost, especially being around such inspirational women. Still struggling with dialogue.....sighs. Cheers Gaile
Hi Brian, I'm new to CrimeSpace and trying to touch base with as many fellow Aussies as I can, especially down here in Vic.
Wow !! a published author, I will have to have a read. I have been trying to get my head around the rules and regs for mentioning public places and people in a storyline, not much info forthcoming, any pointers?? Only know two people in the film industry Mike Bishop actor/drama coach and the late sadly missed Lyn Bayonas, producer.
I guess dialogue would certainly be your forte... Has the new book been published yet?
Hi Brian -- Nice to meet you! I have the utmost admiration for film editors. Sounds like you were right in the thick of the Australian film industry Renaissance. Best, Reece
I've just booked my ticket - will be joining the usual suspects for MWF in August - we will be doing the chocolate tour again - hope you can come - if not I am sure we will meet up at some stage during the week

Fantastic bio, Brian - some wonderful films listed there. I hadn't realised you were from Melbourne when I've seen you on the crime-writers Yahoo group (which I rarely visit these days), but the unforgettable titles of your books stayed with me.
Just letting you know that my third mystery BLOODY HAM has been published by BeWrite Books.

After "The Embroidered Corpse" and "Capable of Murder" Brian Kavanagh just cooked Bloody Ham and it is delicious for the voracious reader. For the fans of Belinda and Hazel this delightful book is something to cherish. Kavanagh is a master of ingenuity and cerebral humour. The characters in Bloody Ham, are dexterously delineated and the book is a scream from beginning to end. A great murder mystery and drama with a touch of humour. Just go out and get the book..."
Hi Brian- Thanks for dropping a line on my chatterwall. Whereabouts in Oz do you hail from? I did a good will tour there when in the American Navy a couple of decades back. Went all over. What a fabulous country.
There was never any prospect of me being Princess Val, Brian. Given that he had to marry a certifiable virgin, it was already too late by the time we met!
Nawh, I didn't find it so chilly in Tassie this morning. Of course anything over 20 degrees and I pretty much melt. We two-headed fairy penguins like to dive under the ice sheets, don't ya know. ;-)
btw Anyone thriving in the Australian film industry has me in awe. That's one tough biz!
Hi Deb, wow! That's terrific. Many thanks and I hope you enjoy CAPABLE OF MURDER as much as I did writing it. It was intended as a one off originally but Belinda and the other characters keep at me to continue with more - so I did!
Thanks again, and enjoy.
Cheers,
Brian

Thanks for the link. Boy, does that bring back memories!
Have you read Peter Temple's "The Broken Shore" yet? It just won the old Silver Dagger Award this weekend. Great book.

I just visited your website and read the first chapter of CAPABLE OF MURDER. I must say I'm hooked! I'm ordering a copy today.

There's no rain at all down my way, just huge gusts of wind blowing everything around the yard.
