Yes it is a strange title. A cozy mystery by Denise Dietz. The quote on the flyleaf is "Eating is self-punishment; punish the food instead. Strange a loaf of Italian bread. Throw darts at a cheesecake. Chain a lamp chop to the bed. Beat up a cookie" Gilda Radner

It is a fast read and funny.

It's not even released yet but you are currently reading it??
I do book reviews for some websites and that is why I have the Advanced Reader Copy.
So, if there is a "Just Have to Read Tonight!" novel, what would it be?
One I recently read that is not out yet is Matt Hilton's Dead Men's Dust. If anyone is a Lee Child fan this would be a book to read.
Just finished Done for a Dime by David Corbett (excellent, Dennis Lehane and Richard Price have got nothing on this guy). Currently reading The Finder by Colin Harrison (enjoying it a lot so far). Next up -- The Tin Roof Blowdown by Burke (been meaning to get to it for a while).
I haven't read Corbett or Harrison. Sounds like ones to check out.
I'd definitely recommend both. If you're going to try Colin Harrison, I think "Aftterburn" is a good place to start.
Thank you. I'll put it on my list of books to read.
I just finished up two rereads: Jim Sallis' DRIVE and Ken Bruen's ONCE WERE COPS. Two short, ultra-speedy hardboiled reads that bite deeply. Before that THE CUTIE by DOnald Westlake, the HCC reprint of his first novel. AMazing that the man came out of the gate already an ace writer with his own voice.

Moving on to Don Winslow's THE WINTER OF FRANKIE MACHINE, I think. Loved his THE DEATH AND LIFE OF BOBBY Z and THE DAWN PATROL.
I loved reading Once Were Cops but I was stunned at the way the book ended. I loved The Winter of Frankie Machine. Haven't read Drive. My next up will be Cape Disappointment by Earl Emerson.
I just finished Donald Westlakes 'Somebody Owes Me Money' and am currently reading Danel Silva's Prince of Fire...next up, unknown, but the wife just told me she picked up five books for me at Barnes and Noble..yay.

I would like to know how I can get into doing reviews for websites. To me, this sounds incredibly fun, and would be really nice. I like writing them.
