Just left public service after 50 years

On September 1, I retired from government service after 50 years, and am now doing full time free lance writing.  Free at last, free at last!  Such a liberating feeling.

I totally relate!  One wonders why one didn't do it earlier and envies those in our society who actually can retire in their early forties.

Yeah, it is kind of crazy, but mainly doing the paperwork to retire was a pain, so I put it off as long as I could.  Busy now writing and doing public speaking.  Also consulting with several federal agencies on leadership, management, and ethics issues.
