Hi,

Glad to be here.

I didn't know if there was a 'welcome' thread, so I made one up.

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Best wishes,

Tade

Hi  Tade, I've only just returned here myself, set up an account a few years ago but thought I'd return tonight. Welcome! :)

Hi Lynette,

Thanks! :)

Has it been quiet all that time?

What made you drift away?

I don't really know if it's been quiet here since I've been gone but it looks like it might have. Probably as I joined Facebook lol.

Maybe activity comes in waves.

At least, I hope so. Otherwise it's a waste of time being here :)

what's your all-time favourite work of crime fiction?

Yes, you maybe right!

My favourite work of crime fiction is an old one...The 4.50 from Paddington by Agatha Christie, but in more modern times, I love Peter Robinson crime books. How about you?

Just had a crime fiction published myself, writing as Lyn Harman: 'Murder by Midnight'. I usually write romances lol.

I find I can read anything by Agatha Christie at any time, so good choice.

For me, since we're going Ancient and Modern, it'll have to be 'The Hound of the Baskervilles' by Arthur Conan Doyle and 'Gone Girl' by Gillian Flynn ('Mystic River' by Dennis Lahane gets honourable mention).

There is a long tradition of romance writers indulging in mystery and thrillers, so it is not surprising. How did you find the transition?

Well I already wrote a little crime and mystery into my books anyhow, most would be classed as 'Romantic Suspense', so suppose it was a natural progression. I'll have to read 'The Hound of the Baskervilles'. :)

You're in for a treat if you've never read it. :)

What are you reading right now?

I'm currently reading 'Strange Affair' by Peter Robinson, and you?

I think we've reached the limit of replies. I can't see the reply button after your last comment.

I'm re-reading Homer, 'The Illiad', for very complicated reasons :)

Oh I didn't know there was a limit to the replies. I sent you a friend request. :)

Welcome to both of you. The site has become very quiet. It used to be excellent at one time. Maybe something will get started again.
