Research is good. The old history teacher in me loves to get down and nasty in bogs of books and musty and dusty old half-forgotten tomes.

Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series is very humourous! Anything that involves grandma is going to be seriously funny.

Procrastination

Today I really want to be writing my novel. Instead I am procrastinating on writing my portfolio. Proposition #1: Teachers are committed to students and their learning. Is there any way to stretch out “If you are not committed you shouldn’t teach” into a two page paper? I didn’t think so.

I have lots of new ideas for stories floating around in my head today. I know I should work on my novel, but I may have to get a few of them down on paper. Sure, it’s more procrastination from homework, but at… Continue

Research

It's a research day today. Sometimes I love research, sometimes I hate it. Today is a love it kind of day! Lots of different countries to research along with customs, restaurants, bars, and alley ways. Google Earth makes this a lot easier. I’m creating an entire timeline and travel maps through Google Earth. It’s fun and it helps to create realism in my scenes. Off to plan a location for an attempted kidnapping!

Summer

I'm new to Crimespace, so I'll start with an introduction. Currently I am a virtual elementary teacher and writer. I have nothing published, but the novel that I am working on has won an award at the Heartland Writers Guild conference. Now I just have to finish it! The novel is a mystery/thriller, but I love to write young adult, paranormal, fantasy, and urban fantasy. If I'm in the mood, I'll write a little horror; it's pretty formulaic, but I have to get it out of my system.
Summer us almost h… Continue

Early Endorsements for “A Circle of Souls”

Linda Fairstein, NYT Bestselling Author: "A fascinating debut - this novel takes the reader to the darkest places in the human soul, from a writer with the authenticity to lead us there. A stunning thriller and an important read."

Judge Judy Sheindlin, star of the Judge Judy Show: "The seminal work of this fine author kept me glued to my chair until the adventure was over and the mystery solved. A great read!"

Book Synopsis:

The sleepy town of Newbury, Connecticut, is shocked when a little girl is found brutally murdered. The town s top detective, perplexed by a complete lack of leads, calls in FBI agent Leia Bines, an expert in cases involving children.

Meanwhile, Dr. Peter Gram, a psychiatrist at Newbury s hospital, searches desperately for the cause of seven-year-old Naya Hastings devastating nightmares. Afraid that she might hurt herself in the midst of a torturous episode, Naya s parents have turned to the bright young doctor as their only hope.

The situations confronting Leia and Peter converge when Naya begins drawing chilling images of murder after being bombarded by the disturbing images in her dreams. Amazingly, her sketches are the only clues to the crime that has panicked Newbury residents. Against her better judgment, Leia explores the clues in Naya s crude drawings, only to set off an alarming chain of events.
