There's a lot of history in most of them that only the locals know :o) I grew up near Chicago, so a big city (like Glasgow) is interesting but sometimes too crowded and shopping oriented. We spent part of a day wandering around Kilmarnock and Ayr (my mother was born in Crookedholm) and had a great time peeking in the local shops. I could say the same about Champaign...the university makes it the town it is. Otherwise we'd be a village in the corn fields.
