Wow! Early this morning I get up and check Amazon.Uk and find out Call Me Smitty, the beginning three story set of this series, was ranked #71 in Kindle books and #100 in books.
I guess the redesign of the series' cover really did improve things!

Three Deadly Sins the latest edition to the Call Me Smitty series is now available on Amazon.com. Two short stories and a novella featuring Smitty--a man of unusual talents. A rather efficient hit man with a well defined Code of Ethics.

We writers get ourselves into all kinds of traps. Here's one which I think catches all of us sooner or later. Tell me what you think. Find it here:

Writing a blog and putting a little humor in it (or attempting to). At the same time discussing what ingredients you need to make a standard police-procedural really work. An experiment on my part in my blog today. Go take a look and tell me what you think. Find it here:

Over on my blog I wrote some thoughts on being a writer who has to work his way through spasms of depression. And you know we all do, as writers. All the time. Go over and check it out. Leave a few comments. Find it here:

Over on my blog I have a few thoughts on why some ebook publishers seem to succeed--and some don't. Drop by and make a comment or two.

On my blog tonight is a little musing about three characters I write. Two homicide cops and a professional killer. And the more vocal fans who prefer the killer. So what does that say about those who read the genre?

The rules of writing. Seems like everyone is coming up with a list of rules on how to write the prefect story. I have a list. But I don't call them rules. Rules sounds so coldly efficient, don't you think? Mine are 'suggestions.' Take a look at them and tell me what you think.

A series I'm trying to write is based off a guy I actually knew. And didn't know at the same time. A stranger with a smiling face whom I knew since I was born. Yet someone holding back a big portion of their life no one knew about.
Go over there and see what I have to say. Maybe you'll agree with me.

How do you sell ebooks? By social networking alone? By thumping the streets with shoe leather to every book store you can find and hawking your wares personally? Go over and read the blog. Make a comment. It doesn't hurt. Much.

Over in my blog I wrote about watching Dashiell Hammitt's 'The Glass Key' on Turner's Classic Movies. The movie had Alan Ladd, Veronica Lake and William Bendix in it. A great movie. Go over and read it and see if you agree with me. Maybe you will. Maybe you won't. But let's have some fun talking about it.

Writing is a mystery. And the fame that comes to one writer and bypasses another even a greater mystery to contemplate.
We have a great writer here in Crimespace. She writes a wonderful set of novels called the Sugwara Akitada series. Her name is I.J. Parker. If you are into historical detectives, her Akitada novels are for you. The best of the best.
But success . . . fame. . . recognition. A mystery. Read my blog and see what I have to say about it. …

Boys and girls, there's a new emag looking for stories we like to write. The magazine is called Voluted Tales, and they're looking for submissions.
And the good news is---they are a PAYING mag! Not much, to be sure. But still . . . paying!
Go find them at http://www.volutedtales.com
