I recently inherited a writers group in the Boston, Massachusetts area (I live in Arlington). I like this group - people are invited to participate as featured readers, and there's also a writers open mic. The events used to take place at a local restaurant, but that's no longer the case.

I took the group and renamed it The Writers Table. Our first eating-reading event will be taking place in Arlington in mid-February. It's open to anyone who'd like to read their writing to a very welcoming group of people. I see it as a way to bring experienced and newbie writers together for a wonderful evening of great food and even better words.

Here's the site if you live in the Boston area and might be interesting in joining us:

Arlington is too far for me, unfortunately.  I am a long time member of a mystery writers group in Salem, MA, but that is proving to be too far for me (it's an hour drive.)  I'm hoping to get a group going in southeast NH, but not having much luck.
Sorry to hear that!

I'm not able to attend but i wish you well. Groups such as this should be encouraged. I have 'discovered' any number of writers that I would otherwise have remained in the dark about, had it not been for talking to like-minded readers. I'm sure it is the same for all of us. Mixing food and drink into the mix can only add to that.

Let us know how it goes.

Thank you very much. I will. I see you use Weebly. I used it for The Writers Table, actually. It's a nice tool, if you just want something simple and fast.
